Fleet : General Information

In 1998, Gaz Atlantique and Société Financière Neptune, its holding, acquired Fouquet-Sacop, a tanker owner established in the 1920's by the Ambroggi family. Both teams joined forces and the offices were regrouped in 'Les Docks', located in the port area of Marseille. At that time, Fouquet-Sacop owned and operated 3 vessels, the oldest of which was sold in September 1998.

In 1999, as part of a new development programme the company purchased 2 chemical - oil tankers specialized in coastal bunkering : FS LOUISE and FS MARION (renamed FS Kazet). The latter is trading in Gabon chartered by TOTAL. FS LOUISE is trading with Shell in the Mediterranean bunker market.

In 2000, Gaz Atlantique ordered 2 product tankers of 19000 dwt for the account of Fouquet-Sacop with a Portuguese Shipyard. These vessels FS VANESSA and FS Thais are currently trading under contract with EXXON.In May 2000, the company purchased the FS Provence (8400 dwt) and she is presently employed in the French West Indies. In June, FS VICTORIA (3500 dwt) was purchased and is operating under the French flag.

In 2001, the vessel FS Maud, a 10 000 dwt product tanker under construction in Turkey, was bought to replace the m/v AMBROISE (single hull). This vessel is presently under contract with TOTAL operating in West Africa. Also a sister ship (FS DIANE) was also purchased as a resale with the same shipyard.

In 2002, the vessels TOURAINE and MICHAELIS were sold. On 13th June 2002, all the companies were merged to create a new structure made up of two companies:

In 2003, a third 10 000 dwt sister ship, the FS Mila was purchased. The company left the gas sector and sold the Eeklo, Cap Anne and Cap Patricia. A new building resale of 6000 dwt, the FS Solene was purchased in November.

In 2004, a sistership of FS Solene was delivered to the company in August, the FS CLARA.

In 2005, a change of partner, the Sea-Invest group via its subsidiary Ghent Coal Terminal, became a shareholder in place of the investment company Matignon. Mr Van de Vyvere became vice-chairman of the board of directors. In April, delivery of FS Philippine (19 000 dwt), third product tanker of the FS Vanessa series. The FS Vanessa and FS Louise were sold.

In 2006, delivery of FS Charlotte (launched in May 2005), a vessel specially built for the transport of liquid sulphur and bitumen. Also delivery of FS Camille (3900 dwt), launched in November 2005, which will take over the bunkering activities of FS Louise.
